Yup. And yet where are any stories of police officers protecting people from ICE abuse that could garner them some respect?
“News organizations” are running the hell out of this story because they see their function not so much to report facts but to enforce social norms like “police officers are automatically deserving of respect to a degree it is newsworthy if someone is mean to one of them.”

NWR make up so many of my favorite places. They are vital and it’s tragic how much life, human, animal and plant is being bulldozed by this team of fascists.
My understanding is the feds are reviewing national wildlife refuges to determine if some are no longer needed or no longer fulfill their mandate. A clear pretext to open the door to development, etc. Nothing is safe and everything must be put under as much public + journalistic scrutiny as possible

And they don’t care if you say you’re a US citizen.

We evacuated our kids out of Minneapolis this weekend and my spouse reports that as she drove them out of town she saw "multiple freeway exits where people are being pulled over." It feels like the Twin Cities is being subjugated by a hostile occupying force.

Local assisted living facilities are taking additional security measures because the residents don’t want their care to be interrupted when ICE abducts their staff. Schools are closed for the safety of students, faculty, and staff. There is no facet of society or stage of life unaffected.
Not an exaggeration at all to say that the feeling in Minneapolis is that the entire metro area is being treated as occupied territory by federal agents. Impossible to overstate how overwhelmingly people here do not like it. This does not feel sustainable.
