Had the government said "as a mark of respect, we'd like you to cancel football matches, concerts etc AND protests today", then fair enough. But to single out the protest they've long wanted to stop anyway as the one thing we should not do looks like disgraceful exploitation of a horrific attack.

Say what you like about equality and growing sense of self worth or self expression in sport, business, arts, politics…. why is that almost no females under 30 opt for short hair? Not even when it would really, really suit them better.

Why all this about regime change in Iran? If we have problems with Iran we should blame UK and US for destroying the Mosaddegh democracy out of sheer greed. But, anyway, I want regime change in that murderous little fiefdom-Israel. And US and India and Saudi for good measure!
