Developer has agreed to cap the commercial component to a max of 925k sq ft, and council seems satisfied with that, so we may finally be moving forward here

The developer says that even if they were willing to spend the money on this kind of proposal, from a financing perspective no equity partner would ever approve of this.

The mayor appears to be backing down, but CM Nash is now asking for additional payments on top of the extremely generous community benefits package to defray supposed costs that the development will bring.

Sounds like she's asking for an additional $10M payment? This feels extremely sus

The mayor and certain councilmembers keep claiming this is what people want, which is absolutely not clear to me? Most of the people asked for them to advance the project without delay, and only a couple NIMBYs asked them to reduce the commercial space
