I am unreasonably excited to discover that Captain Rachel Garrett (Tricia O’Neil) and the Borg Queen (Alice Krige) shared a scene with Jessica Fletcher in 1985. #startrek #murdershewrote crossover

I carry books on the train, ofc, but this whole fantasy is premised on the Book Train looking like this.

Also, if you know me, you know where this is going. Oscar Marion is now classed among valiant Black Patriots regularly enrolled in the Continental Army.

It's dangerously close to Black Confederate myths... but..

As far as I can tell, we don't know a whole lot about Oscar the man. But that hasn't stopped folks from building on his character as a Francis Marion sidekick. See, for instance, Disney's The Swamp Fox, where he was played by Smoki Whitfield.

South Carolinians loved the utility of faithful servants. Oscar shows up in Ranney's Marion Crossing the Pee Dee, and on South Carolina banknotes (which steal White's composition)

This is one of a million takes on John Blake White's General Marion Inviting a British Officer to Share His Meal, a painting he did in 182something for the U.S. Senate.

So its a snow day and as one does, we're binging Murder, She Wrote... and what did the set decorators pull for this scene?... an artwork featuring Francis and Oscar Marion!

Gotta keep an eye on these raccoons. Might be trying something. This is a blurry pic of one hanging behind a fence and poking his head over to spy on me and the dog in the alley a couple of nights ago. Never seen that before (He moved and I didn't get his whole face like I saw but he was being bold)

Roughly the same angle.

I like this building because it has a Francis Asbury plaque on it.
