This assessment is required by congress, so what worries me about the Trump administration "releasing" all the qualified researchers is that they'll just get some, um, very unqualified people to write something palatable to the fossil fuel interests who bankrolled his campaign.
It takes that global issue and brings it closer to us. If I care about food or water or transportation or insurance or my health, it explains what climate change means to me — also if I live in the Southwest or the Great Plains.
