Yeah maybe Itch didn't have a choice but it's fucking awful optics that there's a cryptofascist game jam happily running on there while this is all going on

i am very late but i'm happy to announce that "studio system : guardian angel" has sold 5,000 units!! this is such an insane milestone for a game with zero marketing (on my part) or overall budget. all i can say is thank you very much, and here's hoping we'll reach 10k!!

Look there’s fascinating discourse to be had about legacy RPG series and their playerbases skewing old, but I think the funniest point here is that, based on the male:female ratio and average age, Northernlion is the statistically average Uma Musume player

This is why Phasmophobia lost me the moment it added in progression
I think one underdiscussed reason that people are gravitating towards these games is because they ask so little of your life *going forward*, too.

Most of them don’t have XP, or battle passes.

For almost any larger multiplayer effort that’s coming out these days, who could claim the same?
Don't call 'em "friendslop": Just because low-budget games like Lethal Company and Peak are popular and played with friends doesn't mean they're slop, Bee Wertheimer writes. www.endlessmode.com/article/not-...

Oh, bye then. I guess I'm being forced to finally fix my relationship with social media lmao
Starting July 25, Bluesky will require users in the UK to scan their face, upload an ID or verify their identity with a bankcard.

I realize that platforms feel they have no choice but to comply with the government surveillance schemes, but shocking nonetheless.
Bluesky is rolling out age verification in the UK
Bluesky users in the UK can verify their age using their face, ID, or payment card.

Really disappointing how much of the old pre-Musk Twitter culture made it over here. Not to throw my hat in the ring, but damn, some of the least charitable takes I have ever seen on someone's throwaway comment, and dressing that up in "we're all in this together" doesn't lessen the harm being done.

You're way down in the depths of a dungeon, hacking and slashing with aplomb, only to look up and realize you're going to starve in three turns.

But wait! What's that? A food ration?! You're saved!

"We are exhausted."

You're free to take the boot off our necks any time you want, nobody's forcing you to keep it there against your will, sorry if the squirming is a little uncomfortable underfoot but it's entirely in your power to stop any time you want; a luxury you do not afford your victims.
A month after the UK anti-trans ruling, how are transphobes coping with their victory?

"We are exhausted ... everyone I know just wants this to be over ... the response over the last 4 weeks has made it abundantly clear that the trans rights movement has no intention of taking no for an answer"

Stumbled upon a wild conspiracy rabbithole about Expedition 33 and nothing is funnier to me than the idea that the big bad freemasons pulling the strings behind the scenes are really big Final Fantasy fans.

Might incorporate that one into my world view for fun
