I definitely & truly appreciate the expression of concern regarding the CA wildfires. Pls consider next time you talk to someone from LA area that we’re probably exhausted from having to talk about it *all the time.* Thankfully my family is okay, but if we weren’t, I wouldn’t want to talk abt it.

For an action-based plot, start with a gripping inciting event and keep raising the stakes. Use short, punchy scenes and end each chapter with tension or a cliffhanger. Keep the pace fast, but don’t sacrifice character depth—readers stay hooked when they care about who’s in the fight. #writing

Authors! Submitting your story to an open call? As someone reading through 400+ submissions for an anthology, some tips:
Opening paragraph/sentence: I can tell within the first few sentences if a story is a 'no.'
'Maybes' turn to 'no's' by the end of the first paragraph. Brutal, but it's true.
