Stuck or on the verge? Take a break. If the idea still feels lifeless after time away, it might be a dead end. But if new angles start sparking, you’re probably one breakthrough away. #creative #writing #WritingTips

Also true. 💅
Would it kill that groundhog to just once be like “hey guys 2 more seasons of Ted Lasso” or something

It does make sense … 💅
I wouldn't trust the predictions of any groundhog after the federal freeze on alfalfa disbursements

I got up to 40,000 words, only to cute back on 6,000 of them. Still it’s progress. (I dictate my first draft so there’s lots of fat to trim) #writing #writingcommunity

To nail a visual description for social media, keep it punchy, immersive, and a little poetic. Heres how: 1) Set the mood: One vivid emotion or impression.2) Pick two to three key details: The most striking sensory bits. 3) Use active, evocative language: Make it come alive. #writing #writingtips

Side note, giraffes are my favorite animal.
With everything so seemingly terrible these days & no sign of anything remotely hopeful in the near future, I thought you might need this photo of a baby giraffe.

lol. I never thought of it this way but it’s so true.

Ever have a character based off a real person in your life? Find the balance. The line is crossed when your character feels more like a biography than fiction. Borrow traits, not lives—let inspiration spark creativity, not imitation. #writingtips #creativewriting #writing

The last few days have been challenging to say the least. Joy still exists in this world. For example, this from the Muppets:

Yeah, you!

Good job. Keep it up.

An amazing feeling…
Sometimes you use a pen that turns out to write way better than you thought it would and oh man that’s the good stuff

Breakfast for dinner. Not sure if that’s what the hobbits had in mind with their second breakfast, but I’m here for it.

Omg. So true!
I can usually tell I'm right by the sound of my husband furiously googling something followed by complete silence

Your writing space is your co-author. Choose a setting that inspires—whether it’s a cozy corner, a bustling café, or a quiet park. Whatever works best for you, not what someone else says. The right vibe fuels the right words. #WritingTips #CreativeSpace #WritingCommunity #Authors

I definitely & truly appreciate the expression of concern regarding the CA wildfires. Pls consider next time you talk to someone from LA area that we’re probably exhausted from having to talk about it *all the time.* Thankfully my family is okay, but if we weren’t, I wouldn’t want to talk abt it.

Couldn’t agree more ❤️
I'm absolutely blown away by the follower-to-engagement ratio here! Knowing that all these years my posts weren’t disliked but simply hidden away is incredibly reassuring. Thank you all for being so kind and supportive here on Bsky!

For an action-based plot, start with a gripping inciting event and keep raising the stakes. Use short, punchy scenes and end each chapter with tension or a cliffhanger. Keep the pace fast, but don’t sacrifice character depth—readers stay hooked when they care about who’s in the fight. #writing

Watched this again after seeing it four years ago. Still so good!

I feel like storytellers are usually one step or two ahead of the reader/viewer but he was like five steps ahead

Tremendously valuable insights on this thread.
Authors! Submitting your story to an open call? As someone reading through 400+ submissions for an anthology, some tips:

Opening paragraph/sentence: I can tell within the first few sentences if a story is a 'no.'

'Maybes' turn to 'no's' by the end of the first paragraph. Brutal, but it's true.
