What are we even doing here? I can’t find common ground with people who get off on the suffering of others. Don’t just kill the people we haven’t even proved are criminals, bring them pain. I can’t relate to this. This is inexcusable to me. I’m sickened.

i'm actually struck by how pete hegseth isn't just a cowardly man but a capital-c Coward. a guy who gets off on abusing and hurting people he thinks are weaker than him and then tries to run and hide when there might be consequences

every crisis we talk about nationally - policing, housing, public health, environmental harm - shows up first at the local level, and the only reason the public ever learns about many of these issues is because a local journalist put in the hours. it is an actual survival tool for all of us.
