i post this articles as a "fallen Catholic". I despise how the evangelical followers have gotten behind maga. The behaviors I was taught in 12 years of Catholic schooling mean a lot to me.
I came across this in the newsletter from my Jesuit alma mater.

A Catholic guide to resisting the ICE crackdown
As the nation veers into policies on war-making and immigration that disturb many, average Catholics are stepping up into activist roles to voice their concerns and assist their neighbors.

If my President says I should read something...I am sure going to read it
If Congress doesn’t act, the last nuclear arms control treaty between the U.S. and Russia will expire. It would pointlessly wipe out decades of diplomacy, and could spark another arms race that makes the world less safe. This piece is worth the read.

Tomorrow, Mike Johnson's majority in the House will be down to one vote, which means, in my humble opinion, that Rep. Thomas Massie has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.

what is the weird thing that sticks out with this revelation?
According to ProPublica: The two federal immigration agents who fired on Minneapolis protester Alex Pretti are identified in government records as Border Patrol agent Jesus Ochoa and Customs and Border Protection officer Raymundo Gutierrez."

the issue then and the issue now is
knowing and proving are two different things.
I believe proof, for maga, would require pictures and even then they will say it is fake.
1/2 Emails like this one show Epstein helped Russia blackmail Trump. Epstein was basically telling Russia how to control the US President.

Ya’ll remember when Hillary called trump a puppet? Even she knew, which actually pisses me off that this was never brought to light

i smell the blood of an immigrant

i truly think the goal is to scare people to self deport and not come in the first place
and it will work to some extent

but will there first be some performative violence?

incarcerated firefighters
info from a person that did this
I am a former incarcerated firefighter. I served in a California fire camp from 2009 to 2012.

Misinformation is afire on the internet, so here are facts about the prison firefighter program, all in one place.

A thread.

Citizens of #Europe, heirs to the great revolutions that toppled tyrants and secured liberty—awake from your slumber! The words spoken by Nikolai #Patrushev are no idle threats; they are the calculated prelude to a campaign of subjugation. 🧵

Donald Trump has never been exonerated for the crime he committed on January 6th. Reelection does not absolve him of complicity in the events of that day.

Listening to this interview I gave on the Capitol steps after Jan. 6, I am stunned by what has happened to America since. In that moment, I did not imagine the man who nearly got me killed would return to the White House. Shame on Donald Trump and his allies for lying about this history.

So today is a good moment to pause and remind yourselves: You are not the crazy ones for remembering what actually happened. And it is up to us to keep the historical record intact.

Today is January 6, the anniversary of the felon/GOP’s violent insurrection trying to stop the peaceful transfer of power in the 2020 election! We remember 140 officers who were injured & those who lost their lives due to the attack on the Capitol! Hold all involved in the insurrection accountable!

trump incited an insurrection which was violent and dnagerous.... and the DOJ let him get away with it
We don’t forget.

the trimp folks tried to take over the capitol and kill people
This man and a small group of capitol police officers singlehandedly saved our democracy four years ago.

In November, 77 million Americans said "to hell with them" and voted for the insurrectionists.

Your "Back the Blue" flags are a pathetic disgrace and your patriotism is bullsh*t.
