Wow that was way cheaper than I expected. I thought all the copies would be over the sea.

I'm more of a book borrower than a book buyer but I can always give this to someone once im finished. Thanks for the nudge, should be with me soon!

Historical medicine was gnarly as hell, albeit also just outright bananas.

this is just a rerun of the company townships which controlled mine workers and others like animals, but with a glossy 'tech' front.

I am doing my best to actually read articles rather than the inflammatory subheadings about 'nonsense economics' from the Green party but boy is it hard.

"The challenge for this government — and for politics generally — is to convince voters the system works for them"

surely the challenge should be to deliver a system that does this because it flies in the face of the data. One can't tell people that the trickling down their necks is rain forever.

but yeah as you say there are a heap of people with intense needs for whom that was never an option.

the relevant political economy literature may be partly found using the terms 'recession induced changes'

Ie to comply woth bluesky word limit, in recession, disabled people paying for their own accommodations and treatment can't afford them

I don't understand why zc didn't raise the price. Yeah a price rise isn't great but people need to move flats and use a vehicle sometimes, and it's still a great sight cheaper than a taxi or god forbid buying a whole car or van, it isnt like the customers would bin them off completely. sad news.

For what it's worth i think the most recent budget actually vindicates car sharing as a sensible way to get the benefits of using a car as a tool while avoiding the lifelong costs of storage and maintenance. But that probably wasn't a fit with the financials of the people behind it.
