TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

a strong case could also be made that if you were confused by why Bill and Ted would cast themselves in WAITING FOR GODOT, you might also not fully understand Bill and Ted

a strong case could be made that in fact, by selecting this play for themselves to star in, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have demonstrated that they understand WAITING FOR GODOT better than anyone else alive

Truly. I hate that there are 35 year olds that want the vax and can’t get it. Nonsensical.

If you are over 40, I implore you, get the Shingles vaccine. You DO NOT want shingles.

Just a reminder that if you’ve ever had chicken pox, you can get shingles at any time, and it’s excruciatingly painful. I almost lost my eye. Get your shingles vaccine from your doctor if <50. Get it from a pharmacy if you are >50.

A new Nature Medicine study analyzing health records from >100 million people in the US offers compelling evidence that reactivation of varicella-zoster virus (VZV) ,the same virus that causes chickenpox and shingles may contribute to dementia risk.

Here is a poem from the robot panic of 1797 that I find incredibly exciting and informative. I have a scan of the entire Bath Herald newspaper that contains this poem, and it was a wild time in history.
ART met her sister NATURE late, And seeing her at ease, Inviting her to take a seat At her Androides;
Dame NATURE went—was pleas'd at first, And warmly praised her sister;
Then laughing, till she nearly burst, In seeming rapture kiss'd her.
But as the wond'rous figures work'd
She look'd a little serious,
Whilst envy in her bosom lurk'd—
Her brow became imperious.
"How's this!" to ART she loudly said,
"How's this! ungrateful creature!
Profanely thou hast dar'd to tread
Thus in the walks of NATURE.
"I prithee, base, usurping wench,
No more these freedoms take;
If thus my province thou intrench Thou'lt men and women make."
Anonymous poem published in the Bath Herald, Saturday, 28 January 1797, on the occasion of
"Mr. Haddock's Exhibition of Androides.

I think reading Alan Turing’s paper, and understanding that it was a simple party game about gender is helpful in understand how AI relates to humanity. Also how the goal posts for ‘AI’ have shifted.

Sora is not the real problem here. The real problem is that in 12, at most 24 months, there will be a Sora clone from Tencent or Alibaba that is just as good and can be run by anybody with a 5099, at which point everyone in society needs to rapidly agree to treat all digital video as fake, period.
