I think there’s something in us that tries to distance ourselves from such pain, to imagine others as though they can endure what we cannot.

Every child in there is someone’s precious baby. Every adult too but that’s another matter.

Anyway.

And it’s not just the US.

This vinyl is still only at Target and now it’s almost twice the original cost. An I’m glad I tend to trust my gut on small and big things.

For whatever reason, we were up early, so I asked husband if we could drive by and see if it was busy. If it was, we’d go home.

It’s 7am and the store is dead. I park in the front row. The vinyl is stocked at the front of the store and no one is at the checkouts. I’m in and out in five minutes.
