Their mainstream media won't even report that the 51st state crap was the 1st reason for our boycott. I saw 1 US businessperson in Minnesota who recently was interviewed about the loss of business from Canadians said that the local TV station edited out her negative comments about the 51st state.

When my husband & I returned from Italy in May, we hit the 401 at rush hour on the friday of the Victoria Day long weekend. We noticed all the huge SUVs and the size of our roads. In Italy, the garbage trucks are the size of a car. Everything is on a much more human scale there.

The ceremony on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for #TruthandReconcilation and #OrangeShirtDay was very moving & profound. They walked the over 60 metre memorial cloth for all the children who didn't home home (over 4,000 names so far) through the crowd while Deedee Austin performed "Buried Truth".

Since it’s Truth And Reconciliation Day tomorrow it’s important to raise the voices of Indigenous folks on here.

I am an Indian day school survivor. I am the son of a residential school survivor, the nephew and grandchild of residential school survivors.

Truth before reconciliation is the upmost importance.

It is the duty of all white Canadians to understand that truth, read the final report and pressure your govt to implement the calls to action.

But above all, white Canadians needs to be on the front lines of racism and the lies of deniers to protect Indigenous folks on Truth and Reconciliation Day

I agree. I don’t mind it in hockey but I dislike hearing any Canadian politician say things like that otherwise because it isn’t true & is simplistic. You need to acknowledge your country’s flaws as the first step to begin to address them.
