And speaking as somebody who spent 7 years of my life drawing and finishing a webcomic… I genuinely dreaded reaching the end! I enjoyed having a long-spanning personal comic in my life

Yes and no! Making shorter projects is generally good advice, but for some creators, an endless comic where they make up the story as they go is more exciting than <100 page-comics

At the end of the day, whatever makes you excited to get back and write/draw is more important than length itself

Very true, and that’s why I don’t write an in-depth outline of my story anymore because I need my characters to surprise me as I write the scenes they’re in, if they can’t surprise me then the readers aren’t gonna be surprised either lol 🫡

Webcomicking often is a slog to make, and you WILL find times where you don't want to draw that one panel or write that one totally-necessary-but-boring chapter

Finding joy in the process helps soften the blow. Being in love with your project, though, gives you a reason to come back and draw/write

Two things. One: I'm so freaking glad I saved all the digital tools I've bought and used in the past. Two: I can't believe I used to draw lineart and color it like this, no wonder it took so long to draw!!!

Thank you! Gotta do this out of necessity but also to ensure it stays readable for years to come 💪

I haven't seen a way to use Classicpress with my hosting service without manually updating it... but honestly I've reached a point where I'm not sure if I want to deal with Wordpress in any form at all since it's been so easy for me to break

I'll play around a bit, thanks for the info!
