Today, we honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., a legendary civil rights leader, drum major for justice, and American hero.

As we face new attacks on our civil rights, Dr. King's legacy inspires us to fight against injustice, stand for equality, and work together to defend hard-won freedoms.

I see the President released a one-page health care framework today. Mr. President, today is the end of open enrollment. 80,000 people in Washington state are at risk of losing their health insurance. We need more than a one-page plan.

The Roadless Rule -- which limits clear-cutting and roadbuilding in America’s last remaining pristine forests -- turns 25 today! I've fought for the Rule since 2001 because Washingtonians depend on our 2 million acres to safeguard clean drinking water sources and our $25+billion outdoor rec economy.

Wishing every Washingtonian a Happy New Year! As we reflect on this past year and look forward to 2026, I hope the coming year brings you health and happiness.

Americans are paying more than almost any other country for wireless. Consolidation and reduced competition are driving up costs.

The FCC is not focused enough on affordability.

I've had hospitals tell me that one uninsured person can cost millions of dollars by just constantly coming to the hospital. So when Republicans take away health insurance for 15M Americans, they are increasing costs for everyone.

We need to keep people covered to help reduce costs for everyone.

Today I toured flooding damage in Snohomish County. We're hearing that everybody worked together, first in the preparation and planning, and then in the execution and cooperation. Give the community the tools, and the community will respond.

I joined Washington state’s entire Congressional delegation in urging President Trump to approve an expedited Emergency Declaration for the devastating storms and severe flooding hitting WA communities. Our letter:

Premiums are going to increase by hundreds or thousands of dollars every month for the same coverage people had this year.

I'm asking my colleagues: let's roll up our sleeves. Let’s work to lower these health care costs.

The Arctic National Wildlife Refuge—often called "America’s Serengeti"—is one of the largest untouched ecosystems on our planet.

I spoke on the Senate floor against efforts to overturn ANWR’s land management plan and allow oil and gas drilling in these pristine public lands.

Today we honor the 2,403 Americans who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor. On this 84th anniversary, we are reminded that we must never take the sacrifices of those who serve for granted.

When the administration talks about how much revenue is coming from these tariffs, the revenue is coming right out of the pockets of Americans.

The American people were promised lower prices. Where are they?

I urge NOAA to immediately restore funding to the Alaska Earthquake Center, an important partner for real-time seismic data used in tsunami warnings.

I am deeply concerned that NOAA's cancellation of this grant poses risks to Washington and the entire West Coast. My letter ⬇️

In 2023, Canadians spent $18 million on Washington state wine.

Today, U.S. wine exports to Canada are down 90%. The Washington State Wine Commission explains how Trump's tariffs are putting Washington's family farms at risk.

With so much riding on the reliable transportation of fuel through BP's Olympic Pipeline, we need to understand what caused the recent leak and why a blueberry farmer—not BP—first identified the spill. My letter to BP's CEO:

The CEO of a small manufacturer in Everett says that tariff uncertainty is hurting his business and his customers.

“Just as we think we've got it understood, then we get a 10% additional tariff because of a TV commercial.”

I am concerned that FCC Chair Brendan Carr’s move to drop cybersecurity requirements on mobile carriers is part of a pattern of weakness on national security issues. My letter:

I’m supporting legislation to protect survivor benefits for spouses of fallen service members – even if they remarry.

Americans shouldn’t have to absorb the economic chaos of Trump’s trade wars.

Congress should act now to protect Americans from tariff tax spikes by passing the bipartisan Trade Review Act.

This #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth, we recognize the culture & contributions of Native Americans and Tribal Nations—the first stewards of our lands. Washington’s tribes continue to shape our state’s history, culture, & economy through their enduring traditions.

The Trump Administration needs to release economic data like jobs, GDP, and inflation numbers before the Federal Reserve meets in early December. It appears that the administration may be intentionally restricting the release of this data. Read my letter:

“I look at running a successful business for 32 years, and then having an Administration gut punch the entire industry to where I might be put out of business.”
