Coaxing heavy metal into the sky, then wrasslin’ and wranglin’ it back to the ground again. Cardigan aficionado. Queer with a homosexual sensibility. Seattle living and world gallivanting. I pretend to write. 🌈

I've been on the couch for most of the day, recuperating after a very quick wisdom teeth extraction— all four out in less than an hour! My dentist is eccentric (and a friend of mine) who loves to "see" images in the teeth she pulls. Should I be offended? 😜💅🏼 and YES I kept them, because I'm weird.

My "last supper" yesterday was oxtails. Served over miso rice, it was *so* good. I got a decent deal on them at the store— I love a braise. Takes forever but it's worth the time.

Bids came out, and I got litrilly the opposite of what I wanted. My emotional support Labubu understands my concerns— nothing to look forward to, no man on my mind, grumpy all around. At least the sim instructor said I had "impressive" crosswind landings in Extended Envelope Training.

"Dial a disaster" for the year complete! Seat support was a retired AA captain who said my single engine work was great— "You fly a good airplane" is one of the highest compliments in my book. (The Labubu is just there to observe, not yet type-rated.)

Executive decision that came with the New Year: I’m deleting social media apps from my phone. I’ll still be active via internet browsers, but this much access is too much. I’ll blog about it (follow me there!), but otherwise you know where to find me. 747 with a different snoot for clout.

I’m installing some nav lights. (What is this healing? I don’t know, but it can’t hurt.)

New year, new journal. You will be written about 💅🏼 (Normally I’m a Moleskine girlie but lately I’ve liked this brand)

It’s a clear PNW morning, but not up north— plenty of diversions from SEA at PDX. I’ve got my Stumptown and grabbed a book from Powell’s in the terminal to be as on brand as possible. North to Alaska to finish out the year!

What do I have on underneath? That’s a very personal question (sexy compression socks, of course).

Classic Anchorage on Christmas

Winter solstice is my favorite holiday, because it teaches us that amidst the fruitful darkness, light emerges. I was lucky to spend it with my favorite cunty cousins, one all the way from Sweden. Blessed solstice to you all! ✨

I don’t often (if ever) pass through PHX, but I remember this great spot in The Centurion Lounge where you can sit and plane spot.

JoJo wants to know why you scrolled past this and didn't respond with a picture of your dog.

Snuck down to Santa Fe for some sunshine, soaking, and weird dog cuddles. (Seriously, why are they so bizarre?)

He was an asshole and had a lot going on at home— for which I have compassion. But you will never steal my joy. Whether I’m on the coast and being kept down at 17,000 or coasting above the Pacific, I’m content.

Reason 972,645 why I love living in Seattle: a Costco run can turn into a plane spotting event— sorry to the people waiting for my Princess Parking spot, and don’t mind my commentary. It was sporty today!

ANC was landing 33, instructed to follow a 777 on a downwind. Purple crew behind us got the same. They piped up and said “it’s been a long night, we need a vector to final.” I don’t blame them! Use your resources, and ask for what you need. (All this travel to operate one leg. She’s tired, too!)

Tonight was a lovely evening at the WAC’s 95th Jubilee— I met a local daytime talk show host, whom I watch regularly. And if I weren’t I pilot? I’d be after her job. She was so lovely! Now, same evening, off to China to bring a plane back. Turned left, naturally. 💅🏼

Starting off the Washington Athletic Club’s 95th Jubilee celebration in my natural habitat— a business class pod with some bubbles! And it was 20 minutes from plane to train. What? I’m a woman of the people, too. It’s called duality. And efficiency. 🍾🥂

Back at it, getting my noodle fix in China.

Back in the day, my first job was on a Cessna Caravan— this is exactly what it looked like with that dumb little hot plate on the windshield, hand flying to minimums in O’Hare during a winter storm.

I’m not big on holidays. Early on in my career, I made peace with perhaps not having the day off— the time you make for loved ones, regardless of the date, is far more important. Today I’m thankful for my weird internet friends who keep me company all across the globe. 💜 (I’m on call in ANC today!)

The urge to delete all social media and just rot into the ether. Unfortunately, my mouth is too big, and I’m too cute.

As a passenger, I love a solid nine hour flight. Wine and dine me over an emotional movie, get a lil tipsy and feel the feels, then nap it off. Wake up, feed me again, write in my journal, and boom. It’s time to land. Even better if this is the view:
