It’s fine for others I’m sure but I find the grind with LLMs excruciating. I’d rather read C header files with piles of preprocessor macros than prompt and context “engineer” these agents.

I did have a bike with bare pars. Only rode it with gloves. 🤔

But have you ever wondered how a human would wear handlebar tape? Would one start outer-side in or inner-side out? Or perhaps we just wear bar grips?

I think it’s entirely possible that he can and will show these qualities as a leader but it’s more a matter of how soon it might make sense. Perhaps there are other candidates in mind for challenging Jeffries which have this kind of track record?

He listened but it didn’t always seem deeply rooted in principle, rather it was just volume that got to him. I can see why the DSA likes him but also doesn’t trust him. He needs to build a track record of alignment on policy.

Having voted for and been one of Chi Ossé’s constituents I think he wants to be in the right place but has often been so only after going in the wrong directions and getting hammered by locals. Listening to people is good but not everything.

Been talking a little more about it on mastodon but I’ve been experimenting with ssh as an application transport protocol. It’s got lots of useful things but useable client keys is definitely one. Client certificates are supported with https but it pretty much goes unused.

I immediately started with “ok we’re developing film” in my head. No way am I turning the computer on until the fix wash is done.

It could be possible that I missed something in the language docs regarding module dispatch. It's not necessarily a show-stopper but it felt like friction. Since it isn't a priority project I've let it sit in my mind rather than my editor for a couple weeks but I'll have another go at it soon.

and on the application side (allow multiple subsystems to multiplex over a single stateful interface - think like a menu on a bbs). In Erlang I'd use modules and swap in the current active behavior for the given ssh subsystem. It's possible but more effort/boilerplate in Gleam AFAICT.

I was working on a custom ssh server using the Erlang/OTP ssh application. There are some things that felt a bit odd to build, both on the testing side (swap in a stub module for example) ...

It's a beautiful and small language though. So I'm just waiting for a more appropriate project for picking it up again.

I know it's a matter of opinion but friction of lifting APIs in bulk into Gleam. It's also a bit harder to define common interfaces but I know this is a specific choice in the language. Manually collecting functions is harder than having a first class module for some things I attempted vs Erlang.

But can I get a shareware floppy with it?

my favorite Half Life 1 glitch: Because of how the automatic voice-syncing works, the security guards mouth the beeps and boops you get when they punch in codes.

(It happens to the guard at the end of the trolley ride too)
