Charlotte lost her sister to measles. She has a hard time watching today's outbreaks.

Great reporting by @jcubanski.bsky.social on BMS/Pfizer's new cash price for blood thinner Rx Eliquis.

You can get it for $10 if you have commercial insurance using a coupon, but not if you have Medicare/Medicaid or uninsured.

The cash price is now $346 - compared with avg $76 internationally.

The service allows people to pay for a doctors note so they can get deals on Truemed's partners using tax-free HSA dollars.

The IRS has cautioned against this before but don't expect enforcement in this admin.

A company called Truemed, owned by a close RFK Jr associate, Calley Means, is essentially committing tax fraud by writing doctors notes for high-end wellness purchases like $9,000 saunas, exercise bikes, and bone broth.

This is basically a tax break that disproportionately benefits the wealthy.

The new #Medicaid work requirements are basically a giveaway to federal contractors like Deloitte, Accenture, and Maximus. Likely to end in super expensive systems that won't work well.

GA spent $100M at a cost of $13k per enrollee. 👎

Previous efforts to set work rules in Georgia and Arkansas showed it can get messy.

I just tried out @whimsical.com at the recommendation of chatgpt. (I asked which tool they'd recommend to visualize an industry value chain.)

I have to say I was impressed that their customer service team replied to a question/feedback I submitted within 20 mins

Women are constantly asked to do more in areas for which they will be rewarded less

In a study of professors, women got 378 new work requests over 4 weeks vs 118 for men. Women spent more time on service, advising & teaching; men on research. Orgs should track who is taking extra duties & ensure they are rewarded and distributed fairly. www.forbes.com/sites/kimels...

Women are more likely to take on behind-the-scenes duties at work—extra tasks like onboarding or event planning—and it's hurting their careers. Here's how to say no.

@nytimes.com has not posted about it on social media and their online coverage acts like it's business as usual. Thank god we have @nbcnews.com doing actual reporting

One major unacknowledged problem with Bluesky: it seems a huge number of users are bots.

I am followed by hundreds of “users” that:
-follow many thousands of accounts
-only repost content, no original posts
-have blue, no maga stuff in the profile

doesn’t seem like real person behavior

I haven’t seen any @latimes.com reporting on the journalists injured or detained by police or federal troops. When is this being reported?

Dozens of journalists were assaulted by law enforcement in Los Angeles this weekend.

The press were just doing their job -- a sacred one explicitly protected by law.

Press rights orgs will follow up collectively tomorrow.

Tonight, I emailed evidence to local/state/federal officials. My sign off:
I recognize this is an exceedingly difficult time and for many of you this is a crisis on several levels. I respect those challenges and I don't consider press rights superior to the rights of others. However, all other rights depend on press rights. We cannot allow them to be chilled. This was explained by civil rights icon and longtime congressmember John Lewis:

"If it hadn't been for the media, for brave, courageous journalists, the civil rights movement would have been like a bird without wings."

Democracy cannot function without an informed public. The public cannot be informed without a free press. It is your shared responsibility to ensure press are able to do their job. Several of you have been supportive over the years and I thank you for that. But your support is now needed more than ever. Please ensure your teams are aware of these egregious violations and ensure you take all possible steps to protect the press, and thereby the public and our country itself.

Sincerely,
Adam Rose

This would be huge for HIV prevention.

Very curious how it will be priced both in the US and in high-risk areas abroad

Per @wsj, the FDA will likely approve a bi-annual shot that prevented all HIV infections in women and girls. The drug is lenacapavir from Gilead and would eliminate the need to take daily PrEP pills.

I switched to Asana. Clickup support gave me a free trial after 3 rounds of back and forth with them about the new limits of clickup's "unlimited" plan. That was long enough to export my data and ask for a refund.

If I could give clickup a zero on an NPS/satisfaction survey, I would!
caseylangwith.bsky.social
Spoiler alert: Henry the Clickup chatbot never answered the question.

All startup founders and tech workers: do not use clickup.

I had so much data in it that stayed on, but I need to just pay the $12 to export my data and say goodbye forever. Not worth the rage-fueled blood pressure spikes
