Thank you! Truly I don’t mind when people don’t like my stuff, and reviews are really the only channel you can find out why/what, but… I mean when it’s this clear how shallowly they read something I just…. Why bother writing a book review at that point?

I think it’s good and healthy for writers to know what bothers people about their work, but there are lapses I simply cannot abide.

So, Bookforum reviewer’s are having AI write their stuff now? (“Critic” has conflated a central character with a character who appears on one single page.) I wanted to read this review but this glaring error in the second paragraph stopped me.
