It’s wild that humanism challenged a god-centered worldview by shifting focus to individual human agency and this person is appropriating that term to *denigrate* agency in order to return to that worldview, except this new god is just a janky corporate magic trick that makes people dumb.

Many of us in science are consciously purging our language of the use of 'AI' when we mean 'ML' (which IS seriously useful) because of the push by some commercial developers to conflate 'AI' with 'AGI' (which doesn't even exist!)

I live outside the US & I expect our neighborhood to have fireworks & I know our apartment complex has a few people from the states & Canada who will be pulling out the champagne. I don’t know the wines here yet, but I think I should find something to chill in the fridge.

Anyways, the bigger story is that CHA poisoned kids with lead in their housing, spent $1.1 million defending itself against a resulting lawsuit, and has yet to resolve the issue of lead in its units.
