The Tennessee special election yesterday--
Good news: Aftyn Behn narrowed the winning percentage for Republicans from 22% to 9% since last year.
Bad news: Behn lost because people are still voting for a Trump-endorsed candidate who is likely to back this cruel, failing agenda when he gets to D.C.

The Dept of Ed is proposing changes to what training is considered to be "professional." Tell your reps that nurses, teachers, physical therapists, PAs, and NPs must remain on the DOE list of professionals. Access to financial support for their education is at stake. We need these professionals!

Can someone in Washington who is good at economics please do something to lower prices and bring the stock market back up? Whatever you're doing now isn't working; not better like you said it would be. For all the "terrible" economy talk, it seemed better to me last year than now. Anyone else?

I really wish that House Republicans were as concerned and outraged about leaks of classified information as they are about PBS and Sesame Street.

I just came back home after a rally in support of Democracy. Most passersby were supportive, but there were a few thumbs down and a couple of middle finger responses. That struck me as both odd and un-American. Democracy is the foundation of this country. These are confusing times.

Hey @chuckschumer.com! If I wanted a New Yorker to screw up the country, I would have voted for Trump in the first place.
Pro tip for Democrats: if Trump is congratulating you, you fucked up.

KEEP CALLING. PEEL OFF ALL DEM SENATORS YOU CAN.

☎️: (202) 224-3121

Tell them to vote NO on Cloture and NO on CR. Vote is pushed to after 1:15ish for now. Situation is fluid.

The only public YES votes are Schumer and Fetterman. They need 7-8 total. KEEP CALLING.

Call retiring Senators too!
March 14, 2025 at 2:59 PM
To All the Democratic Senators who don't know how to vote on the CR today, some advice--Vote NO on any unilateral CR or budget proposal. Don't accept the propaganda that Dems will be blamed for a gov. shutdown. We are not that stupid. It's obvious to us what's happening.

🚨🚨🚨Senate Republicans are trying to jam through a disastrous spending bill that would rip funding from programs that millions of Americans rely on: Veterans benefits, nutrition assistance, and health care benefits. We have to stop it.

Call your senators NOW— tell them to VOTE NO: (202) 224-3121

On the Budget vote moving to the Senate:
Call your Senators now! Ask them to vote NO. The shutdown has been happening for the past 2 months, so nothing new there. Stop the Republican Administration from stealing more from the poor and middle class to give to the rich.

It should be very clear to every Senate Democrat that any vote for Cloture will also be considered a vote for the bill.

People aren’t going to be tricked with procedural games.

They know exactly what is going on.

Defend Medicaid.
Vote NO on Cloture.
NO on bill.

🚨 Everyone needs to call their Dem Senator right now. They are starting to cave.

Tell them:
1. Vote NO on Cloture
AND
2. Vote NO on the Republican spending bill.

Don’t let them pivot to reconciliation. GOP doesn’t need Dem votes on that and they know it.

TODAY is the showdown.

Republican legislators avoiding town halls is like a toddler who covers their eyes and thinks you can't see them. You can't hide from failing your constituents no matter how many town halls you cancel.

Dear Congress open.substack.com/pub/cathy9/p...

Congress should not be cutting funds for safety net programs for those who need them the most while shifting money in tax breaks to those who need the money the least. It's irresponsible and blind to the needs of a large portion of the electorate.
