This is how we end up with kids not in school and injured people not going to the hospital and victims of crime not calling the police.

All of that will lead to a huge spike in crime. Not tomorrow, but in years to come.

America is much, much less safe due to Trump’s actions.

At one point during the hearing, the judge asked the prosecution why the case can’t be tried before mid-December.

Lemons replied: We are “just getting our hands around” discovery in the case.

There’s lots of it, he added, and it includes a “significant” amount of classified information.

That is very speedy trial.

However, it may be done even faster than that. Today’s hearing started the 21-day clock for a preliminary hearing.

That is a mini-trial where the prosecution has to prove probable cause. Usually a low bar, but based on what we’ve heard, maybe fatal here.

CNN: The judge presiding over the prosecution of Jim Comey has agreed to Comey’s request to schedule a near term trial. Comey asked for a Jan 12 trial date. The judge went with Jan 5. Comey is counting on the gov’t not being ready for trial. A good bet.

This week, a family member going through chemo had to have all her hair cut off because she was self-conscious about it falling out.
