Yeah I can't stand that either. I don't need every icon to be a rainbow or photorealistic, but making literally every icon the same color is so dumb and makes the UI harder to parse.

I'd love to know why the Windows team (with a lot of help from Google/Chrome) has spent the last 10+ years waging a war on the ability to easily tell which window is the active one.

Presumably it's because they are sadists, which is the only explanation that fits everything they do.
