I love all the chill jazz in the background of this.

Just got to the Farscape scene of John & Scorpy arguing on the rollercoaster and had to rewind and watch again to fully appreciate that they were both in-costume, saying their lines, and acting while on a proper rollercoaster, haha.

So used to modern CGI/bluescreen that it didn't sink in at first.

There's a rug over the tile where the glass is, but I only learned tile was a problem just before I got the first machine, from videos about how to maintain them.

Been putting glass PC panels on tile for years without knowing it was risky.

Friend who installs glass shower doors didn't know either.

"If you used AI, I won't even let my cat shit on your product" is a strong message to every company right now.

Listening to it now, I'm not sure I've heard it before. Maybe it wasn't big in the UK. Or I just didn't notice it.

"Somehow, the chorus returned."
catovitch.bsky.social
"It's just the chorus, again!"

*world markets collapse*

"How could she do this to us now, on top of everything else??"

Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" was first played in 1992. The initial run through of the chorus is expected to finally end in 2026.

Still gotta clean Godzilla, install a bunch of stuff in it, and investigate why a part is making a cool "donk-boing!" sound it didn't used to. (When the other one started doing the same, it was because a part became loose... still utterly irresitable to hit the thing that makes the sound, lol.)

Lara sat in it once, if that counts

Using this hat to remind myself there’s a sheet of glass there, after a lot of near misses.
A woven hat hanging off the corner of a sheet of pinball glass, which is against a stair railing and sticking out a bit at the end and a lot at the top.

Is that a snake in your shooter lane or are you just pleased to see me?
PinSnake, a plastic snake with a towel velcro’d to it for cleaning pinball machines, going down a shooter lane. Same from a different angle. Snake is long.

That’s a nice trick, since Biden wasn’t the president on Jan 6.

I still think there's a lot of unrealised potential in the idea of training leopards to eat other people's faces, if we can work on their tendency to want to eat mine as well.

They'd have to teach civics like they teach religion now.

"Here's an old book, with very little connection to reality, but a lot of people still base their lives around it to some degree, so it's important to know what it said."

GenAI truly was the worst technology to come along at this moment.

An energy and water guzzler when we most urgently need to take climate action.

A disinformation machine as our journalism fails.

A bias machine as fascism takes root.

A job killer in a cost of living crisis.

The "cognitive decline and brain damage from repeat COVID infections" and "easy to use robot that makes slop and melts your critical thinking skills" is a hell of a combo in a post-fact media ecosystem

Its almost like anti-porn laws are never actually about porn. 🤔
mikestabile.bsky.social
Buried in Michigan's antiporn bill is a provision to effectively outlaw "circumvention tools," such as VPNs.

Mark my words: legislators will increasingly leverage porn panic to restrict or ban VPNs, and to limit internet privacy far beyond adult sites.
Experts raise privacy concerns over Michigan bill targeting pornography and VPNs
Rep. Josh Schriver, the bill’s sponsor, says the law is designed to target only producers and distributors of pornography, not everyday internet users.

It's mental how much stuff people ask for Google will never do, and how much stuff no one wanted they do do.

I don't think cats would care. They seem more concerned with how things smell.

New business model: Sell tickets to people who want to fight a gang of gorillas with no rules other than they can't sue you.
