Children in London and northern England have the worst rates of dental decay and tooth extractions.

Access to NHS #dentists is in short supply and this is having a big impact on some of the most vulnerable children.

🚨 NEW: Labour is lifting 100,000 children out of poverty by expanding access to free school meals.

Alongside free breakfast clubs, cheaper uniform costs and government-funded childcare, Labour is putting money in parents’ pockets and giving children the best start in life.

We have had the perfect example this last weekend of why we urgently need to update how we regulate media.

The Guardian headline: Government drops health push after ultra-processed food firm lobbying.

Loads of Labour bashing results.

Yet paragraph 8 tells it happened 2yrs ago under the Tories.

A UKRI Policy Fellowship is available with my employer, The Environment Agency. It is to look at applying social and behavioural science to increase natural hazard resilience in diverse communities.

Might be of interest to the #EGU25 science-policy community.

I know there's a lot happening but this week several grenades were thrown to decimate domestic HIV treatment and prevention research. I know more colleagues with canceled grants than not.
Our patients will die or get worse care as a direct result.

Can confirm. USAID's DARTs are being fully dismantled.

These are the legendary teams that fight famine, beat Ebola, rescue people after earthquakes.

They represent the very best of America in the world.

Elon Musk was once a builder. Now he just destroys.

This shameful nihilism will kill people.

NEWS: I'm told about 160 personal service contractors were just terminated at USAID. All DC based but people who go abroad on assignments usually shepherding aid deliveries abroad.

It was my absolute pleasure to give the Hunterian lecture to the Hunterian Society last night (www.hunteriansociety.org.uk). It was a real delight with some great questions at the end. Thank you so much for the lovely book too 🙂.

When Trump was sworn in, Elon Musk's corporations were under more than 32 investigations conducted by at least 11 federal agencies.

Most of the cases are now closed or likely to be closed soon, and the federal agencies are being defanged by DOGE.

Funny how that works, huh?

The terminology will be stricken in classes for future officers in a service that confronts global warming every day, a move some say will weaken it.

Donald Trump is golfing.
