Seems like he’s training to become an unreliable narrator.

what happened here is that a bunch of masked domestic abusers with guns got out of a car, swarmed a woman for no reason, shouted contradictory commands at her, and shot her dead because they felt like it, and anyone who can’t see that has darkness where their soul should be

Shareholders.

Probably shareholders.

Even after being completely floored by the demo, the full game is running circles around it while doing flip flops.

Blue Prince is of such a pristine quality that it’s been one of my easiest GOTY picks in recent years.

Start exploring these halls, and soon you won’t want to do anything else.

I rarely play games more than 15h, yet I sank 80+ into the rabbit hole that is Mt. Holly Estate, sucking in whole weekends like a black hole of riddles.

The choreography of its ending, a victory after so many failures, and the game acknowledging your (brief) success, is a sequence for the ages.

Stay tuned for my GOTY, which will be the real SWAN SONG of my 2025.

(can you tell I’m winging this while walking to my NYE plans?)

See you next year, everyone. Onto the brightest 2026!

Wednesdays

As I’ve said many times over: you might play a better game this year, but you won’t play a more important one.

Witnessing powerful @wednesdays-game.bsky.social @thepixelhunt.bsky.social talk at AdventureX, my respect for these creators, this game and what it signifies has only grown.

Type Help

No sound or visuals, but the sharp writing of this (free!) text adventure paints the grimmest of pictures in your mind.

Unraveling its narrative structure makes you feel like a True Detective, and the way the game allows you to use the interface as your personal notebook is brilliant.

Time Flies

Simple in concept, flawless in execution. The amount of interactions @playables.net squeeze out of one (1) mechanic game design genius.

That it’s also a meditation on the fleetingness of life, featuring comedy as well as social critique is just enough to make your jaw drop.
