Same recipe, top is unsulphered molasses, the bottom is blackstrap. Wee bit of difference in dough temperature caused the variation in texture. Taste nearly the same. #cookieparty

Normally I would have at least one good batch of each Christmas cookie recipe done by now, but my test batches have been garbage this year. The ube crinkles are finally done - didn't come out great, but I'm not remaking them again! And caramel latte shortbreads are done! #cookieparty

It has been a day, and it's not over. Got the cheap brie from Costco so it is a delicious dinner for 1 ahead of several meetings this evening. Bonus #blackcat #catsofbluesky

Thanksgiving bakes - pumpkin cinnamon rolls for breakfast, garlic dinner rolls, and apple pie. The teen helped with the rolls and pie, especially the decorations! One of the best Thanksgiving meals ever tbh.

I just checked, and after almost 20 years of paying student loans, we're finally under 100k in debt. Big thanks to Biden narrowly getting through the dismissal of a huge chunk of debt my spouse was saddled with from a school found guilty of fraud, elminating about 25k. 🎉

Every single ad I've ever seen for AI anything shows people I don't ever want to be like doing the dumbest, most mundane tasks that could have just as easily been accomplished without AI. It's because it's being crammed down our throats by these whackjobs.

This morning I went for a lovely walk in the woods. Then after the house emptied & the rain started dumping this afternoon, I turned on some jazz, got a soda cake in the oven, did some crafting while it baked & now enjoying it with nettle tea. Best Halloween ever! #bakingsky #samhain

I love getting a CSA box for the things I wouldn't normally buy otherwise. A scramble with the usual bacon and onions, but including chanterelles, watermelon radish, and heirloom tomatoes on top, with a little provolone 🍜🍽️ And a giant cup of coffee ☕
