My main observation from the last few hours of monitoring US social media is that Democrats are universally denouncing political violence and calling for calm while MAGA are escalating language and openly lusting for retribution against broad categories of people they identity as their enemies.

What was Trump doing as Senate Republicans plotted to kick millions off healthcare to extend tax breaks for the ultra-wealthy?

Golfing at his club with three GOP Senators.

Add it to the $26M (and counting) golf tab taxpayers have already fronted since Trump's inauguration.

Raskin: This is a gangster state. This is not basically a legitimate government that is sometimes doing corrupt things. This is an essentially corrupt enterprise. It's like watching The Sopranos. Every day, they get up and they try to figure out how to plunder and pillage the people

In their latest budget move, the White House wants to:

-cut support for preschools and homeless kids
-end programs that keep pesticides and toxic chemicals away from our families.
-take money away from farmers.

All so mega-rich Republicans can upgrade their yachts with tax handouts.

Nearly every Republican in the Senate voted to overturn a Biden Admin rule that limited bank overdraft fees to $5.

This rule, initially established by the now gutted CFPB, was expected to save consumers $5 billion annually.

The GOP is the party of junk fees.

I would suggest actively boycotting the companies who are the biggest advertisers on X. Elon has a big debt held by several big banks that he is paying 11% on. If he loses advertisers the banks will get the jitters. Rich people need credit to get richer. Stop buying from these and write to their CEO

Here’s a strategy: 1) establish the frames, what problems will these changes cause, how will they impact communities; 2) inspire people to use those frames to tell their own stories of their families or communities are impacted; 3) amplify those stories.
Scientists and journalists need to figure out right quick how to explain to the average person how a massive change in research indirects will impact the medical care they and their children get (eg at the local children’s hospital), the education their children will get, the price of tuition, etc.

DeepSeek’s success with less powerful chips shows how constraints fuel innovation. While the West poured billions into brute-force solutions, resource-limited teams in China built models that are leaner, cheaper, and just as powerful. Sometimes, too much money breeds inefficiency.
