Feeling cautiously optimistic about this platform.

🤝 A huge thank you to NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence and all participants for the stimulating discussions and collaborative spirit. A special thank you to Benjamin Delhomme for the kind invitation and for leading such an inspiring initiative.

🧠 As a psychologist specialising in misinformation and influence, I was grateful for the opportunity to share perspectives on how influence can occur through information - shaped by social influence, persuasion, and cognitive processes.

💻 By fostering a clear, consensus-driven understanding of what constitutes a "narrative" - and how these may influence us - it aims to empower AI systems to detect complex patterns, such as malign state influence, while avoiding reliance on opaque "black box" systems.

🔎 This innovative project is dedicated to developing a sophisticated tool for analysing and identifying narratives within the information environment.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share it! It means so much to have a platform to highlight these experiences and advocate for change. 💛

Thanks so much for reading and sharing your story! I completely agree - I’m also one of the fortunate ones who had a truly supportive supervisor - but it’s by no means guaranteed.
cecilietraberg.bsky.social
Thank you for sharing! And I totally agree 🙏

Wow this is so impressive - and what a lovely experience for them as well 👏 Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

So happy to hear this resonates with you! It’s a reminder that these experiences aren’t unique, and it highlights how important it is to create a more supportive culture in academia- for all of us navigating parenthood and careers. Thank you for sharing this!

Combining PhD life at Cambridge with having 3 children would never have been possible without the unwavering support of my incredible supervisor, @profsanderlinden.bsky.social 🙏 I’m so grateful for the understanding and encouragement he’s shown me over these past years. Get yourself a Sander!

Thank you Christina and for sharing as well. I also thankfully had a very supportive supervisor, but still - very hard! 😅

Sharing this feels vulnerable but meaningful. 💛

In this piece for @natureportfolio.bsky.social, I reflect on having 3 children during my PhD - why I’d do it all over again, but also why academia shouldn’t make it this hard for parents to thrive.🍼🎓

I had three children during my PhD: here’s what I learnt
Cecilie Steenbuch Traberg worried that choosing to have children during her graduate studies might signal a lack of career dedication.
