Pretty wild to me, considering that I pretty much only streamed a bit of January before resuming in July. So grateful for all the support over on Twitch. I'm not as active as I probably should be on Bluesky, but I'm so thankful people choose to spend their time with me anyway. 🥹

With that said, I actually think Nightreign is a step in an interesting direction. Not in terms of format, or Artificial Difficulty of Night, but in the addition of more versatile active skills (if across preset classes) to make combat and movement more engaging, and relics to deepen build variety.

My latest spicy take is that, *for me personally*, FromSoft is no longer the reigning champion of "Souls Like" combat design.
They established and popularized an excellent formula that I feel others have iterated on with improved flavor, depth, and entertainment value beyond the difficulty.

Carry two teammates who 3-barred twice vs Everdark Gaping Jaw, soloing 30-40% of the fight without going down once? That's only 200 points, champ.

It has been a while since I fucked up my sleep schedule because I found so much solace in a video game. Enshrouded really is a special little title. It's sort of hard to believe it's still in Early Access; I'm so pumped to see where it goes as it continues its development.

In criticizing Pokemon games, I never intend to rob anyone of - or judge them for - their love for them.
But Enshrouded is a $30 EA game, and Keen Games is utterly dwarfed by Game Freak in staff & resources. Imagine what GF could do if they put even a sliver of this love & care into their products.

31 hours in, before I could even attempt the scariest act 2 fight (Myrkul), our beautiful nearly-level-10 SK ranger gnome met their end 🫡🪦There were many close calls prior, but not a bad first attempt!
Next time, we know to just not release those pods, no matter how much of a homie Zevlor may be 😅
