I'm a big proponent of critical ignoring as an information literacy (or maybe, perhaps, an information survival) strategy. The key part of course is in the word 'critical', as simply being ignorant of the information environment is its own pitfall.
Critical ignoring offers some great strategies to help navigate our noisy information landscape.
