There’s always quick way off a mountain “Aaaaaaahhhhh” splat :)

I know you’re trying to help. That might be true. But it doesn’t give me a feel for it. Like: “Is that fast. Is that far?”

Used to swapping things in my head to get a feel or know what I’ll be dealing with. Feet & inches, mm & metres, kg, grams, pounds & ounces…
All good. I can relate to them on a human scale.
I can do miles & mph.
I never really got the hang of kph or how far something is in Km. I can’t ’feel’ those.

How did you create this?

There used to be a Safeways in there. And fish tanks in the wall by the fountain by the stairs.

When ‘The office’ came out my Bro’ & SiL liked it.
I didn’t.
I thought it wasn’t funny. They both said: “You don’t work in an office. So you probably won’t ’get’ it.”
TBF I didn’t work in an office.
So why did I find ‘The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin’ funny when I hadn’t even started working?

I can complain about the economic damage as well. The morons that voted for #Brexit didn’t understand that being part of a big international ‘gang’ was a benefit.

Little sister had freedom of movement in the #EU & benefited from the #Erasmus programme. She started living & working in Germany. After 2016 it was easier for her to apply for German citizenship to stay with her now husband. #Brexit denied a lot of young people in the UK opportunities. I hate it.

Some days you get lucky.

I tend to start with either PIOUS or EARTH

I was lucky with my starting word & then the follow up word. Then I had to think outside the box.

We had plastic decimal coins to play with, to help us learn. I preferred using Kg when I was rigging. 10s & 100s make the maths easier :) If I’m bodging something I’ll use whatever measurement is easiest/nearest to the measurement I need. For CAD I prefer mm.

I got it. But it’s an outside the box sort of word.

That’s one of the things about growing up when things changed and having to deal with different weights and measures as you grew up. 34” waist. Is a measurement I know :) I *think* I’m 5’10”. But I’ve never really needed to know how tall I am.

He’s not fat though and you can still he has muscle definition.

I don’t get 64ths of an inch. Or any other of that tiny imperial bollocks. I can eyeball a few millimetres, a foot, 2inches or 20’. But I can also see 50mm, 300mm and know that 6m is 20 ish feet.

I’m the sort of dullard that will read instructions. I know we have some fixtures that weigh 26kg I know the SWL on a caving wire ladder is 100kg. This means I can use one safely. It’s one of the first reasons I wondered about my weight. I use weights & dimensions all the time.
