Misanthrope, living in two places in Staffordshire. I don’t have a home. I just have two places where I sleep. I like dogs. I make things. One day I will finally catch up with #TheArchers

The spiders are our friends. They eat flies.
Unless you live in Australia. Apparently they’ve got some right nasty ones there :)

The German word for Bat is Fledermaus which means Flying Mouse. I think that’s rather nice.

I’m not anywhere near here. But if I was. I’d be going. Friend gave me some of her old jeans to use, to make patches for the jeans I’m wearing now. #ReuseRepairRecycle

Some cauliflower cheeses (with peppers) cooling down before going in the freezer.

Shhh! That’s our secret best bit when picking a carcass :)

+1 👍🏼Strip carcass of meat. Pop meat in Tupperware & into fridge. Use for chicken mayo buttys etc. I use slow cooker to make stock from carcass after stripping meat. Dismember & crack bigger bones with the back of a good knife. 12-24 hours slow cook with vege’ & herbs. Keep an eye on water level.

+1 for turning it over. There is a lot of choice meat on the underside of a chicken carcass.

Probably stewing steak in red wine. By the looks of your recipe it wouldn’t appeal to you :)

Lil’ Sis’ got to live & work in Germany because of the #Erasmus scheme. Met a nice Austrian lad & married him. She had to get German citizenship to stay there & work. #BrexitShambles I feel sorry for the people denied an opportunity because of #Brexit
In fact it makes me angry #Brexshit thickos won.

Neither do I. “Reverse the polarity of the neutron flow” perhaps?

Will you be having dumplings? I shall be shopping for the slow cooker at some point and will deploy it this weekend or the next.

My dad was a Vicar & Rector. So we tended to live next to a church. I do like the sound of church bells.

Maybe he’s a bellend IRL. Probably.

A still of the scene. It looks like something that Ronald Lampitt would paint. If you don’t know who he is Google or check @lbflyawayhome.bsky.social
A square church tower to the left of the picture with the allotments sloping away from it. In the distance on the other side of the allotments is one of the village pubs. #Alton #Staffordshire #ChurnetValley #ST10

A short video of the ringing. Filmed from the path that runs down the side of the church, by the turn off past the allotments to the pub. The video pans to take in the scene. If you wanted you probably couldn’t get a more stereotypical view of an English village.

Friend had this stuck through her door the other week. A letter from the village Bell ringers to say they had visiting ringers who were going to attempt a full peel of bells. I missed the one in the week as I’m at work. I caught the one this weekend. I do like the sound of English church bells.

A proper #MidsomerMurders murder :)

Top tip for head torch use. Don’t wear it on your head. Dangle it round your neck. It still lights where you’re putting your feet & still read the map. The main reason to do this is so you don’t dazzle your companions and they don’t dazzle you. If you need to look ahead just tilt it up by hand.
