In today's Public AI Quarterly call we had a demonstration of the Public AI Inference Utility, an open frontend for public and sovereign AI models. The utility is built on OpenWeb-UI and features the Apertus model from SwissAI (which was just released a week ago) and the Southeast Asian Languages in One Network (SEA-LION) model from AI Singapore. New models from other countries are to be added soon. Why is this important? Well, in the words of Joshua Tan this is a "functioning example of public AI that is working in the world."
