BREAKING: Our client Mario Guevara, an Emmy-winning journalist detained by ICE in retaliation for livestreaming law enforcement activity, will be deported tomorrow to El Salvador.

Mario and his family are being punished for his reporting. This cruelty is meant to stifle our free press.

The border must go. We cannot do this to people over lines on a map. We CANNOT

Moreover, ICE must be destroyed

Horrifying— Barbara Gomes Marques went with her US citizen husband and lawyer on 9/16 to a green card appointment at USCIS office in downtown LA where she was tricked into walking down a hallway away from them, was snatched by ICE and never came back. She now faces imminent deportation in Louisiana.

So a Trumper with an assault rifle massacred people in a church and burned it down because he hated Mormons. But we're so used to seeing THAT, it'll be out of the news by the end of the week.

No flags at half staff for the slain worshippers I guess.
Jason Allen, a Burton resident, told CNN that even locals who didn't personally know Sanford recognized his truck.
With flags flying from the back as Sanford drove it through town, "you couldn't miss the truck," Allen said. Sometimes, he said, Sanford would
"switch one of his flags out for a 'F*** Biden' flag."
Sanford, who went by "Jake," was an Iraq War veteran and outdoorsman, according to military records and social media posts. He grew up in the Flint area and had lived for years in the suburb of Burton, public records show.

shatterproof goggles are for little things like chips of wood or metal, not for large heavy projectiles llke beanbag rounds or foam baton rounds

your typical shatterproof goggles will do very little to protect you, they'll just mash into your eye with everything else

sometimes it feels like it would be more efficient to let the OS do I/O scheduling work for my taskgroup in an optimal way

Like "I need to process 100 files fully, I don't care what order I do them in, send me chunks in whatever order takes advantage of disk block overreads or page locality"

I am an experienced developer but I'm far from being an experienced Swift developer -- so I may be missing something

In certain situations, one wants select() style I/O on multiple input channels ("whichever's got some data next, give it to an actor")

vs, "multiple actors working concurrently"

I am really enjoying Swift's concurrency model myself. I am quite familiar with different concurrency models in various different languages and frameworks and for 90% of the things I do on a day-to-day basis, Swift makes it really fucking easy and makes certain bugs hard to even express.

The million dollar questions. I should probably think harder about this but I'm not going to.

Swift has formalized concurrency (lower-case c), and has facilities to model a substantial portion of all possible concurrency mechanisms. It's honestly stunning.

Today's statement about "Fighting Back Against Antifa Violence" from the DHS contains a false conspiracy theory about our member crew Rose City Antifa.

RCA has not doxed any ICE agents, a fact confirmed by going to the URL DHS conveniently censored from their photo.

RCA did not put up this flyer.
Screenshot of a DHS report with the following text, followed by a censored photo of a flyer soliciting tips about ICE agents with Rose City Antifa's email listed.
"Rose City Antifa also illegally doxed ICE officers, publishing their private information and home address online and on public flyers. Individuals associated with Antifa also sent death threats to ICE agents and DHS personnel."
