I have an inverse version of this. I watched my partner play the game with no intention of ever playing, but really did love the implications of [gay] azemet and to a lesser extent emetwol to the point where it pushed me into wanting to explore that and actually make my own wol.

both of elyan's parents are alive. he was raised by his dad, Kahedrin, but spent a full decade without seeing him during the course of msq. Kahedrin is an extremely loving and good father and he's proud of him but secretly feels that he failed in his son via allowing him to become the wol.
