New paper published today by PhD student Théo Picard who used machine learning to explore what controls the variability of deep ocean particle fluxes collected by PAP site sediment traps, which highlighted the importance of interior ocean dynamics on sinking particle trajectories.

There were lots of interesting, productive and sometimes cathartic discussions had during the @imecan.bsky.social workshop that led to this publication.

My summary of the paper is that engagement with/of ECRs shouldn't be a tick box exercise - there are many ways to engage meaningfully!

And it's over! #LiegeOcean25. Thank you everyone for coming and for the nice discussions. I have certainly learned a lot about marine CO2 removal this week. Have a nice trip back all!

🌊 A great + insightful week so far at #LiegeOcean25 focused on mCDR emerging views and challenges.

Today I presented on a #sociooceanography workshop session where we trialled developing storylines as a way to comprehensively anticipate environmental + societal outcomes of an imagined mCDR trial
