Staryu! I'd put this design off because I was trying to come up with creative solutions for the shapes; in the end I decided to see how the 3D print would look and actually it's pretty good!

Success! All the prototyping worked out, now to do the boring parts like track down better colour matches and dial in laser settings so the middle of the sash doesn’t cut through.

I used heat from a candle to seal the edges of the synthetic ribbon which had the side-effect of making it a bit more rigid along the edge. It’s very hard to control the heat though… might try experimenting with my soldering iron next.

I ran a sidekick themed stamp rally at Adelaide Artcade! It was such a pleasure to work alongside so many cool artists and I love how everyone found their own way to celebrate their chosen sidekick(s)!

FB memories reminded me of these prize medals and pins made for the first Vic Urchins Splatoon 2 LAN! First and second place medals for the 4v4 tournament and a set of Salmon run pins!

The design is based on the Oceanink Squids logo, showing a squid and its long ink tail encircling the southern cross over Australia and New Zealand. The fronts of the medals show half of them have silver stars and half have gold stars. The back of the medals are engraved with 1st and 2nd place respectively and the event name "Stay Smashed" and date "10/09/2017". There are also four pins. They have the same outer squid but have a fishbone in the middle, resembling the salmon roe from Salmon Run.

Built my first Jarne Blade yesterday, this thing is ridiculously thin - half the thickness of my laptop. It feels like holding a wafer!

Will look to make these available on the store in a few weeks’ time.

Thanks as always to big bro Jeff for designing another amazing piece of kit.

I once again massively underestimated how long a project would take, but the Palettes are now ready to go for @avcon.bsky.social this weekend! I'm so excited for this stamp rally!

The same sheets with the illustrations from the previous post in a more complete status. Mega Houndoom and Mega Manectric have been coloured in with watercolours. Mega Aggron's pencil sketch is in place. Mega Tyranitar is unchanged.
