"The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic was a litmus test."

"It's easier not to care about the world when your society has conditioned you to not even care about yourself and those around you."

"[T]his society has been conditioned to simply watch."

Another way out: Building resistance when passivity is the norm
The COVID-19 pandemic should have shown us that we’re supposed to be meeting needs, not falling in line behind fascist incursions

Personal and organizational. The ways that folks safety plan individually can often spill over into how organizations develop safety plans.

Wherever you are, please attend an ICE Watch training. Then link up with a rapid response network, if you're able to do so. In Chicago, trainings are happening regularly. Once you manage to attend one, you can contact OCAD about getting plugged into a rapid response network.

Fear will try to convince us to isolate, to hoard resources, to avoid community, to build the least threatening campaigns making little impact.

A grounded risk assessment will move us closer to each other, it’ll remind us of that we are millions, it’ll make our work more bold and more brave.

I am just going to keep posting that the TX governor recently pardoned a political murderer.

The dude texted "I'm going to shoot protestors", then went and shot a Black Lives Matter protester. He was convicted in a jury trial.

Hard to find a more blatant example of celebrating political violence.
Gov. Greg Abbott pardons Daniel Perry, veteran who killed police brutality protester in 2020
A Travis County jury sentenced Perry to 25 years in prison last year, prompting Abbott to ask the state parole board to review his case.
