Clear time (Redemption ending): 12h 32m

Pretty solid King's Field-like. Nice bosses, charming characters, and a great soundtrack.

ChillGuy's review of Verho: Curse of Faces | Backloggd
I played through all the King's Field games a few years ago, and since then there's been a pretty sharp increase in KF-likes and other games that play relatively similarly. Out of the ones I've played...

72. Angeline Era [PC, 2025, Bumpslash action]
Clear time (51 scales, Boss Room unlocked): 18h 48m

Excellent game in all areas. Fun combat, an enjoyable story, and a fantastic OST. Analgesic's strongest work by far. backloggd.com/u/ChillGuy/r...
ChillGuy's review of Angeline Era | Backloggd
I've played all of Analgesic's games so I already knew I would like Angeline Era, but it definitely ended up being my favorite work of theirs overall. The combat system is excellent; it takes the bump...

Soulslikes deciding that silence is fine while exploring is one of the great modern video game tragedies. King's Field had great area themes! Just copy from that!

71. DragonLoop [PC, 2025, metroidvania]
Clear time (true end): 12h 10m

Cute little timeloop metroidvania. Pretty fun movement/exploration.

ChillGuy's review of DragonLoop | Backloggd
A charming little metroidvania where you're stuck in a timeloop. Every time you stop at certain waypoints, the day counter increases by one, and if you go past day 5 then the world ends at the hands o...

It's a nice step up from Lilies, imo. Not super long either, so you can knock it out pretty quick.

70. Kingdoms of the Dump [PC, 2025, turn-based RPG]
Clear time (100%): 24h 59m

Great story, kind of busted gameplay. Tons of bugs and other issues, but nothing too game breaking (that I experienced, at least). backloggd.com/u/ChillGuy/r...
ChillGuy's review of Kingdoms of the Dump | Backloggd
Before I started Kingdoms of the Dump, I was a bit worried. With the setting it was going for, I was dreaded it being filled with puns and a bunch of constant humor that I'd be constantly cringing at....

Combat is a bit ehhh, but I enjoyed the story route I took. Cool game overall. Kohaku deserves the world.

ChillGuy's review of The Use of Life | Backloggd
A gamebook-style RPG dealing with the titular question of "how should you use your own life?" It mixes together a story with multiple routes, turn-based combat with some real time elements, and explor...

68. Mohrta [PC, 2025, FPS]
Clear time (true end): 7h 27m

Cool environments and music, but sadly the gameplay is pretty boring.

ChillGuy's review of Mohrta | Backloggd
A first-person shooter with a heavy Demon's Souls inspiration. Mohrta excels in a lot of areas- the environments are vibrant and varied, the enemy/character designs are full of personality, and the mu...
