May not seem like much but that results message is progress.

Just need indexing to catch up and I _should_ start getting results and things in my feed.

Hopefully
A screenshot of the Zeppelin appview client "Discover New Feeds" pane. The query test has returned: No results found for "test"

As I slowly find and resolve obscure dependencies the obvious things are getting noticed, my indexer was broken because I didn't consider I'm not hitting the relay through nginx. And I'd shut off the search backend and didn't start it back up

@futur.blue might need to pick your brain or you to tell me I took a very wrong turn and ventured into pain town.

It would be hilarious-oh it actually is.

When the plc backfill is incomplete it can't lookup your handle/did so a 401 is the result returned. Zeppelin plc is pretty barebones so I wasn't getting any logging out of it.

Now onto the mystery 400s.

Alllmost, I can post from the client but there's still some funny business
chipnick.com
Ok neat, posting from the appview client works but 401 for everything trying to fetch from bsky.

Sill unpacking how to run an appview. Missed a step to create a handle on a pds that is part of the network which may solve the auth issues. Then I realised that Cloudflare won't do ssl for sub-sub-domains (appview.pds.blah) so I've ripped cloudflare out of the mix and am waiting for dns propagation

Ha I had cyberpunk backgrounds like ghost in the shell!

Fedora is a very nice distro with not too much bloat! I use it on my server.

It’s also the gateway distro, we need to get him on arch Linux.

I hear and see your concerns. Over the weekend, a couple users hosted on Blacksky's PDS were banned from the Bluesky app and thus the Bluesky API servers. This was a weakness of our system I've been aware of and hoped we had more time to address before any kind of public incident. 1/11

Quoth the Appview “identity unknown"

I can only fathom that gitlab customers use jenkins or some other third-party instead of their CI hot mess.

Chatting with ex-colleagues about our gitlab>github migration, turns out they're doing the same.
Described my issues with the runners and random failures, they're also experiencing the same.
Described the months/years old issues on the runner projects with my exact issue, also same for them

A lot of folks have been asking when invites will be going out.
- No, you haven't missed it! We haven't announced when.
- Yes, we already have alpha-testing users migrating and testing and posting from our servers
- The timeline at this point is ASAP, due to the crisis of confidence facing Bsky.

I'm now pulling from 132 pds hosts

I only realised _today_ that I left out "not" in that sentence. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Executive leadership tends to require one to be at least a little sociopathic

100% agree, we’ve seen this play out multiple times _this year_

Welp guess I’ll stop my backfill now, I only have 4TB to spare.

I’ve been around BlueSky for all of it so I understand the nuances and the patterns of the leadership failures to look out for marginalized groups

Tweaking my bio cuz people don’t read northsky newsletters to understand directors have no power, it’s a legal requirement and our coop is setup so member groups make the decisions. I’m just advising and writing business docs most of the time.

I plan to swap the firehose for Jetstream to remove the backfill requirement which will help
