it’s still kind of surreal when you sit down and think about it: there is only person in this administration who is remotely good at actually doing politics, but he is basically shut out of decision-making and message-setting. Also he’s the President of the United States.

Defeatism is a weapon in the hands of the enemy. Probably their most potent one. The reason twitter is the way it is isn’t to convince anyone, it’s to create an alternative reality for the Right to live in where they always win, because Musk (or more likely his co-funders) understand this.

the entire raison d’etre of MAGA is impunity. they all desperately want a piece of trump’s untouchability. DHS being staffed with thuggish subnormals is a feature not a bug - the message is “join us and nobody can stop you even if you’re a huge loser.” that all goes away if they underbus people.
