Rocks, politics, programming.
As for not bringing other models online, bottom line is they need that new production process (the assembly tree) to get costs down, otherwise there's not much point. The Mach-E and to a lesser extent Lightning were both very inefficient to build, and any new model would've suffered the same way.

1) It's only DOA if battery energy density essentially doubles in three years, which isn't going to happen, certainly not at production scale.
2) It was cancelled because of terrible margins, CAFE/incentive rollbacks, and low sales volume. The factory fire was unfortunate but not the driving factor.

It really was a wildly successful political project to re-define “elitism” as “listening to professors and researchers” and not “agreeing with whatever drug addled wealthy lunatic perverts say”

He does have a point but yes, I would agree he is having a tough time articulating it.

How does CPD feel about all this? Can't imagine the rank and file generally appreciate the shit ICE is pulling.

I just don't see this story so long as the real big players—Google, Microsoft, and Meta—are printing money with ads.

Pep Boys isn't in the sex business, whereas bots should basically be assumed to be in the sexbots and scambots business.

Discussed the use of AI with a colleague who was quite bullish on it. His example was using it to extract descriptive metadata for a language we have no expertise in.

“How did you verify it?” I asked.

“I asked a friend who can read X if it looked right.”

Ie pure form measurement, not content.

There was speculation during the DOGE days about Miller and Musk having some tryst, and a matador is the guy directing the bull. Make of that what you will.

This is such a casually evil, alienating statement. No family wants this for their kid, let alone one that would—rightly—turn their son in for a murder like this, and I'm certain they are suffering to an almost unimaginable degree, one they'll never get over.

Honestly it would have. He got the kind of weak pushback that actually further solidifies wrong beliefs, because people think they’ve heard and refuted the counterargument. A helluva lot of his interviews functioned that way.
