Just worked the busiest month of my career, mostly because my primary client hired a new marketing manager
Then (brace yourselves) they immediately fired me once that work was done. “New marketing manager” means “pack your bags” for me. Regardless of performance.

The cashier at the hardware store was having a politically charged convo with the patron in front of me. When he walked away, the cashier looked me dead in the eyes and she said “that bullet was so close”

I’m working at night in a place that I shouldn’t have noise canceling headphones on, but their music is stuck on full volume and this run of songs makes death sound like a sweet release

I’ve come a long way from the days of having to carry a gun and keep my bosses Rottweiler with me while demoing houses in Olde Towne Easte, but sometimes I’m humbled by needing to use the same toilet

I truly don't know if going on vacation is worth it when you run your own business. The stress before and after probably outweigh the benefits. That's why we're taking our first proper vacation in 8 years – and we've already delayed the start by two days...
