Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

These fools used to go after Sports Science and Media Studies until they realised how much money they make. Are they working through the people who bullied them at school?

That was always an idea I thought should have caught on. I think the day fee is a great way of doing it, rather than "guilt coffee" every two hours.

One more reference point gone. It's librarians only now

I wouldn't mind if people pronounced it like that rather than the mangling it usually gets.

If anyone has people in their network who work in charities which deal specifically with issues of rural poverty I’d be grateful for any connections. Not rural homelessness, although I appreciate there’s a crossover. Scoping out a possible follow on to Outsiders focused on this subject.

To mark its anniversary, we approached the Leeds-based theatre company Slung Low, with Harrison’s encouragement, about organising a live reading in Holbeck Cemetery, the place that inspired ‘v.’

On Sunday 12 October, we invite you to experience ‘v.’ with us:

Poet Tony Harrison sits in front of a tomb stone, with text promoting 'V. A Homecoming', a live reading of his poem, organised by the London Review of Books and Slung Low theatre company.

I seriously thought about the 300 when I was looking at the 240.
chrisroutledge.bsky.social
Yes, that one. It barely fits within the lens board. Beautiful thing.

Should add, I don't have a Crown Graphic.

I have a 240mm Nikkor which I bought for portrait work, but which turns out to be really good for landscapes, especially if you want to mess with the focal plane. It weighs as much as a small but muscular dog.

Our pet rabbit used to steal the chorizo ones. Couldn't leave them on anything he could jump on to and he would chase you if you had them in your hand. He was a raw vegan otherwise.

Yes! And I must watch that again. It came out in our "having a baby" stage, so everything was watched through a fog of exhaustion.

Lyme disease is a *massive* and largely unseen problem, especially in areas where deer or feral goats are prevalent.

Please, nature lovers: be tick-aware at all times.

Maybe if one finds the holy iPhone that iris will unlock it and grant eternal upgrades and AppleTV subscriptions.

After that giant eye I've been reminded that I have a history with advertising and Liverpool. This is from 2015, when half of Lime Street (in the reflection) was for sale and due for demolition. #Liverpool
Lime Street, Liverpool, reflected in a bus shelter advertising panel with the instruction "Sell Everything".

It's alarming whatever it is.

Photographed earlier tin the summer, this reminded me very much of the eyes of Doctor T. J. Eckleburg in The Great Gatsby, only in this case the giant, staring eye welcomes travellers from the train at Lime Street Station. I think it's a cosmetics ad. #Liverpool #BelieveInFilm
A giant eye, lids pulled back, stares from a billboard with St John's Beacon, Liverpool, in the background. Black and white photo.

Looks more barn (no chimneys) than farm. New roof is interesting; somebody cares.

Harrison was an extraordinary writer and thinker and human. He's been a huge influence on me.
