Working on it.
Mostly books and chocolate.
As we head into the last shopping weekend before Christmas, please consider using Interac instead of a credit card. Better for merchants AND Canadian: what's not to like?

The staff at Simons understands the 'customer service' assignment. They found sizes, made suggestions, led us to on site alterations (!!!), and carefully packed our purchases in lovely boxes.

Is this what luxury feels like?

So sorry to hear about Rob and Michele Reiner. A weekend full of tragedy.

Hoo, the wind tunnels downtown are no joke. I was nearly blown down Bay St. and I'm not exactly aerodynamic.

'Wintery mix' sounds like it should be a tasty snack instead of an unholy combo of rain, freezing rain, sleet, and snow.

This has been brought to you by today's weather, which is Ugh with a side of Ick.

Public: The Finch line is open. Several years late, but finally!

Eglinton LRT: Ooh, you wanna see late? I'm on it!

Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women. On this day, we honour those killed and injured during the École Polytechnique tragedy, and all women who experience violence. It is also a day to commit to ending gender-based violence.

Wore mittens for the first time this season and realized only after I got home that they were from two different pairs. Beginning as I mean to go, I guess.

I named my fists Green Eggs and Ham because you will not like them, Sam-I-Am.
Named my fists Moby and Dick because from hell's heart I stab at thee!
Named my fists A and Ha because how folks want to take on me…

Time for my annual dose of admiration for (and envy of) people who can ride a subway, streetcar, or bus without IMMEDIATELY removing their coat.

What he said. It may not seem like a lot of money... until you multiply it by 20+ million Canadians.
Under normal conditions I wouldn't take the time to fill out a form like this for maybe $25, and then maybe more if there's any left.

But, if that money comes from the Westons then sure, I'll take a few minutes, because fuck them.
If you're a Canadian who lived outside of Quebec and purchased bread from Loblaw's between 2001 and 2021, you can get compensation AND stick it to the Westons if you submit a claim before December 12th.

Loving how dynamic this lake effect snow squall is. Sunshine! Flurries! So much wind it's hard open your eyes! Now more sun! And NOW more flurries!

It's very exciting.

Two years ago this week I moved out of the place I'd been living for more than 12 years. Renoviction sucks.

Today I'm still darkly satisfied I refused to return access and keys until November 30th. Because fuck that guy.

It's not only that it gets dark so much earlier but also that my night vision got the vapours in my late 40s and has never really recovered.

My sister's posting photos from Turks & Caicos in the family chat; my brother's posting his pics from Frankfurt. Would adding photos of the closet I'm failing to organize be taking part or just showcasing my envy?
November 22, 2025 at 11:49 PM
Mmm, sunshine. So pleasant for a change.

Mmm, not going to work on that assignment before my appointment. And to be honest, probably not afterwards, either.

The point of Remembrance Day is to look unflinchingly at the devastation war leaves behind. To acknowledge the sheer scale of what we lost: the lives, the potential, the chance to build something better.

It's horrifying to watch the same cancer growing again, gnawing on closed and cowardly minds.

I was wondering why every website was so irritating then remembered I reinstalled the OS but hadn't yet reinstalled the ad blocker. Much better now.
