In 1964, the Civil Rights Act was passed, marking the legal end to Jim Crow in the USA. Its Title VI banned discrimination by race among any institution that receives Federal funds.

On Friday, the Acting head of the Ed Dept sent out this letter to all 50 states:

My white women sky people… I offer a read for you. When most white feminists mention women’s rights, they don’t REALLY mean Black women. I encourage us all to know the history and do better. Black women continue to labor for everyone while simultaneously being made invisible.
