Fun fact: Monument Valley is a massive outdoor set originally constructed for John Ford's Stagecoach, and left standing for use in countless westerns by Ford and other directors through the 1930s, 40s and 50s. It was designated a Navajo Tribal Park in 1958 and you can still visit it today.

Fun fact: Monument Valley is a massive outdoor set originally constructed for John Ford's Stagecoach, and left standing for use in countless westerns by Ford and other directors through the 1930s, 40s and 50s. It was designated a Navajo Tribal Park in 1958 and you can still visit it today.
If you want to sample a vintage Western starring John Wayne with the added entertainment value of some of the most bizarrely inaccurate subtitles I've ever seen, check out the Angel and the bad man on Amazon Prime Video and watch it with the closed captions on. The discrepancies are wild!

I'm a big fan of the Death of Superman comic book story. No, not the one with Doomsday. The one from 1961, Superman #149, written by co-creator Jerry Siegel. It's at all time classic, and done in a single issue.

I still think about when a Comics editor asked me to redraw a woman in one of my stories to make her more attractive because in his opinion she "looked like Annie Lennox." Given that I considered Annie Lennox one of the most gorgeous women on the planet I wasn't entirely sure how to respond to that.

Looking forward to Hammer Studios' Blood from the Mummy's Tomb on #Svengoolie tonight! I've seen almost all the Hammer horror films but I'm not 100% certain I've seen this one! Hopefully we'll get an ad for my new lenticular 3D Svengoolie print, too!

The scene in #StarTrek II where Kirk visits Spock in his quarters to discuss the situation at the Regula station and Spock convinces him to assume command... that it's *all right* for him to assume command... is my favorite exchange of dialogue between the characters in the entire franchise.

If I had more spare time than I knew what to do with, I would be tempted to make a tribute page to the blue Dodge van that appeared in so many episodes of #Batman including tonight's episode featuring Catwoman. Enjoying the full two-parter thanks to the shortened episode of #Svengoolie!

It just seems implausible that after all these years #Svengoolie still forgets on a weekly basis that he does, in fact, have a store.

I just did a rewatch of the classic #DoctorWho episode The Curse of Fenric. There are so many disparate elements in this story that it really shouldn't work, but somehow it does - like gangbusters. This was Who at its best in what sadly ended up being it's last season for more than a decade.

The Sci-Fi equivalent to this is the transparent holographic display that looks cool and futuristic but wouldn't be as useful as an opaque 2D screen.

A pet peeve in movies and TV shows is characters drawing diagrams on clear glass instead of whiteboards. Yes, it's cinematic to be able to shoot through the glass and the diagram, but this would just be harder for the characters in the scene to see the same writing on something opaque.

I'm really amused by the thought of inviting somebody over to my apartment and has practical joke have the whole place decorated with Jack Elam merchandise. The problem: As far as I know there is no such thing as #JackElam merchandise.
