A proud Military Brat, an Italian/Acadian-American grandmother, strongly opinionated, vocal, with a life filled with people tired of hearing it. I'm told I was born "woke." I thank my parents for nurturing that spirit.
Just finished "Burn Order" by @maddow.bsky.social, and it's excellent work. I can hardly wait for the next "Rachel Maddow Presents:" always worth a listen!

"Things happen," applies to missing the bottom step or tripping over the area rug and falling in the foyer, slipping on a wet spot, random bruises, flat tires, and getting stuck at a railroad crossing when the train is long and slow-- not being murdered, dismembered, and carried out in suitcases.

Reminder: Tariffs aren't paid by other countries, no matter what Trump says.

A tariff is an import tax, raising the price of almost everything we buy.

Tariffs are also regressive — taking a higher percentage out of the paychecks of working people than out of the wealthy.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

Is it any wonder so many feel abandoned by our economy? People lose faith, and a demagogue fills the void.

This is why we must fix the system.

The Trump administration’s been too busy blaming DEI instead of fixing the real problems.

Donald Trump’s termination of Register of Copyrights, Shira Perlmutter, is a brazen, unprecedented power grab with no legal basis.

It's surely no coincidence he acted less than a day after she refused to rubber-stamp Elon Musk’s efforts to mine troves of copyrighted works to train AI models.

Protesting in the Rotunda is not allowed:
Trump pardoned the riotous protestors.
Will he pardon the prayerful clergy? Only 100 days in, and I am sickened by this regime.

Just a legal historian here reminding everyone that “high crimes and misdemeanors” do not need to be felonies.

They can include political abuses and stupidity, like, hypothetically, destroying the economy and wiping out people’s savings in 3 days.
