This also when people suggest there's no point to space exploration and we should focus only on earth. Without space flight we wouldn't have satellites and we wouldn't even know the state the earth is in. It's hard to quantify the benefits of open-ended research, but ultimately it's all invaluable.

I’m fascinated that lawyers—especially the ones on tv—still have faith that the courts can or will enforce the law. The immunity decision should have made it clear that SCOTUS is more than ready to suspend the Constitution and create a fascist “state of exception.”
